Urban Decay Most Wanted First Impression

Yesterday, Urban Decay launched a line of pre-chosen makeup sets, and I have to say, I’m super intrigued.

Urban Decay 1

All of the combinations are $96, so I’m most interested to know what kind of a deal we’re getting with this…

This is an exciting collection, and when I saw some of the combinations, it took a lot of self control not to immediately hand over my wallet. It’s one thing to like a brand and use things from the line, it’s another to feel like you picked the exact right combinations that a makeup artist would have chosen for you. It’s like when you watch a Beauty Guru tutorial for a look, and have similar products but not quite exact, you get that little twinge of disappointment. But not with these beauts.

Also, the saving of the money. Because, come one. I gots kids.

Here’s a run down of my favorites and a non-favorite.

Naked Supreme

Naked

This one caught my eye immediately, mostly because I am on a “your face but perfect” kick right now. (Is that a thing? I think it’s a thing. I’m making it a thing.) Plus, I’ve never seen the Naked3 look as gorgeous as it does on this model. It comes with:

Naked3 Palette (Done, I’m sold.) – $54 value
Naked3 24/7 Glide-On Double-Ended Eye Pencil (that’s a whole lotta name…) – $16 value
Naked Naked Flushed (Did they mention it’s Naked?) $32 value
Naked Naked Ultra Nourishing Lip Gloss – $20 value

All together – $122 value, so this set saves you $26. I would also add to the value that it comes with two palettes – the Naked3 (12 shadows), and the Naked Flushed (Bronzer, Blush, Highlighter). You are truly getting a full face of makeup here.

Honey? Can I get this? Cause… I know you read this blog… and… you love me… so…

Iconic UD

Urban Decay 2

Whoever did the makeup on these models deserves a raise. Many raises. All the raises. If that lipstick is actually as multidimensional and silky as it appears in this picture, I need all of them. This set comes with:

Fishnet Eyeshadow – $19 value
Psychedelic Sister Eyeshadow – $19 value
Polyester Bride Eyeshadow (Dude, these names…) – $19 value
Rockstar 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil – $20 value
Bad Blood 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil – $20 value
Shame Revolution Lipstick – $22 value

All together – $119 value. But after looking at the previous one, it feels light on value. But not as light as…

Saturday Night Smoky

Smoky

Come on, Urban Decay. You just released a palette CALLED SMOKY. You’re going to offer Naked3 in a set, but not Smoky? Four eyeshadows: Two neutrals, a black, and a silver worth $80 alone instead of offering the palette that SHARES ITS NAME WITH THIS SET. Wow, I got emotional there. My other problem with this set? It doesn’t come with a blush. This isn’t a full face look, it’s an eyeshadow quad with a lipstick tagging along. This isn’t the only set that doesn’t come with a blush, but it’s definitely the most insulting.

Foxy Eyeshadow – $20 value
Blackout Eyeshadow – $20 value
Buck Eyeshadow – $20 value
Gunmetal Eyeshadow – $20 value
Black Velvet 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Pencil – $20 value (and horrid reviews on Sephora)
Naked Revolution Lipstick – $22 value

All together – $122 value. Yes, it is monetarily the same value as the Naked3 set. But that just underlines how overpriced their shadows are. Come on, you can get Mac for $10 or Make Up Geek for $6. Dear, Urban Decay, two shadows should not cost the same as an entire palette that you yourselves sell.

You can get these on the Urban Decay site.

What do you think? Which set would you be most likely to buy? If you are my husband, will you be buying me this set?
